"Zombies, Run!" is an iPhone running app that makes me smile every time I use it. This is significant because I hate running.

There are 23 missions you can run in sequence. Each is a narrated chapter in a zombie apocalypse story where I’m a main character, Runner 5.

1. The story keeps me occupied making the workout go faster.

2. The story motivates me to keep pace by giving me fictional zombies to avoid or valuable intelligence to collect.

3. It’s easier to get up early to run because I look forward to the next installment of the story.

My list of 10 Gaps:
  1. Playing cards blow around too easily if you play outdoors.
    * While sitting in an outdoor courtyard waiting for a movie to start, we decided to play cards and they were blowing off the table.
    * I'm a member of a gaming group and there are gamers at my work. They'd all relate to this gap
    * I have a lot of crafting, sewing, and art experience; my concept won't be hard for me to execute in the time given.
    * The domain that interests me is actually efficiency. Whatever the materials are, I want them to be the most durable and extremely versatile.
  2. I have to stack books or boxes to get the perfect height and level surface when I use my desktop tripod or microphone. The books/boxes take up too much space and are never the right height and not entirely stable.
  3. Is there some way to keep my coffee from spilling on my way to work. There is a sip hole and a vent hole in most commercial, plastic lids. Some retailers have plugs for the sip hole but it doesn't fit my permanent travel cup. if the cup is full it will even spill out the vent hole.
  4. Every week I have to remember to look at the comic book retailers site to see if my titles are being released that week. I wish I received notifications when a new issue of my favorite comic book titles are released.
  5. Going from city to city I get so frustrated trying to figure out how to find my favorite TV channels. The cable numbers are always different.
  6. Carrying board games around is cumbersome and takes up so much room. Is there a way to make almost any game travel ready?
  7. My DVD player, cable box, and television are arranged in an entertainment center. I have to angle each remote just right for the signal to be read. I should be able to use the remotes no matter where I am in the room.
  8. There is this cool solitaire game I remember playing with a unique deck of cards. I don't even know what it was called but I loved to play it. I wish I had one for my phone.
  9. My work computer logs out every 15 minutes. This is a preset, company standard. But a huge amount of my time is simply watching the monitor but not doing anything. Is there a way to activate the mouse or keyboard every 10-12 minutes to keep it from going to sleep?
  10. We have a huge freezer in our office where everyone stores their frozen lunch entrees. There are times when I'm positive I've brought an entree but I don't know which one is mine. If I know I brought one, sometimes it's hard to tell which one is mine, especially if someone else moves it. In addition, almost everyone buys the same brand entree. How do I identify mine from everyone elses?

My gap will be to design a way to keep playing cards from blowing around when playing outdoors.
